Meet Sachiko Soro of Vou Dance Fiji !!!
Today it is my ABSOLUTE pleasure to share with you, my chat with the phenomenal Sachiko Soro.
Sachiko owns and runs a social impact dance school and company in Fiji with her husband Eddie. Vou Dance is all about providing creative career paths for people of the Pacific and showcasing the vibrant, diverse Pacific culture to the world through dance. Vou dancers have performed in over 30 countries and the company hires over 30 staff. Lives have been changed by Vou, whether in the audience, on the stage or in the crew.
In our morning catch-up, we discuss how she and the team stay organised, how the divide the work up between them, and how they balance big dreams, creative freedom with impeccable discipline. Towards the end of our conversation, I was blown away as we discuss the Vou Dance business model, and how Vou was built to be a sustainable, self-sufficient company. With some entrepreneurial thinking, Vou has managed to keep all their staff on over the COVID period.
