Welcome!
Little Mountains is a toolbox, empowering people to reshape the the world through their self-expression and storytelling. We believe that the stories we tell, whether in books, on billboards or around a bonfire, matter and shape society.
We believe that for individuals, there is no greater agony than bearing the unsaid inside you. We also believe that for society, stories are the communal currency of our humanity. And miscommunication? Well, it’s the main source of our collective problems. (Maya Angelou, Tahir Shah and Earl Sweatshirt agree with us, and that’s why they said all that first).
We want to support you find the words, time, and medium, to say the things you want to say.
A Bit About Me.
My name is Matisse, I am a mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend, writer, business owner and lover of all things delicate yet mighty. I was raised on a beach in Fiji, and have spent most of my life trying to use my words in useful ways. I have tried to say big things, while treasuring the minutiae of human existence. The nuances, the shades in both blue and ideologies, the steam from a coffee cup.
From a journalism degree, to telling stories via TV and radio, international NGOs, diplomatic agencies, through mentorships, workshops, shops (and even from a ship at one point) for over a decade I have been encouraging brands and humans to express themselves.
I have developed my own way to do things, to extract the heart of a story, pour some thought into it, and to send it out into the world. I call it warm talk.
I’ve made some tools that help me, and maybe they will help you too.
